A leader in creating travel and expense software in San Francisco is looking for a Senior Web Application Engineer. As the Senior Web Application Engineer, you will assist in the development of company's core web application. You must be passionate about developing new technologies and have a good sense of product design. In addition, you'll be experienced in web application development (using PHP for the back-end), have solid development habits (e.g. unit testing, technical design documentation, etc...), solid experience with front-end web technologies (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript), and are not afraid to dive into new and unfamiliar technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
BSCS, BSEE, or equivalent years of work experience.
6+ years of related professional software development experience.
Strong understanding of web and web-related technologies.
Server-side application development experience with PHP required. Additional experience with Python and/or Perl and/or Ruby is preferred.
Strong experience with Client-side application development in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Significant professional experience with SQL and development of database-backed web applications.
Strong knowledge of one or more relational databases (e.g. MySQL, Postgres, or Oracle).
Experience with MySQL is preferred.
Solid understanding of memcache.
Experience with Symfony is a plus.
Experience developing consumer web sites/applications.
Solid development habits and practices.
Experience with and enthusiasm for working in Agile environments.
Experience developing technical design documentation and participating in a technical design and code peer review process.
Natural problem-solver and troubleshooter.
Comfortable working in a GNU Linux/UNIX environment.
