Job Description:
The Director of QA will be responsible for driving quality into all development activities while ensuring that our test processes are fast, adaptive, lean and efficient.
- Work with peers across the business and leadership to ensure that our products and applications are designed, built, deployed and operated with high quality and minimum defects.

Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY: Deep understanding of end-to-end quality. Invaluable Knowledge of service-oriented business and webscale ecommerce. Invaluable working knowledge of software testing processes and best practices. Invaluable working knowledge of software testing and automation tools , technologies and vendors. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Excellent working knowledge of end-to-end software development lifecycles and processes. Expert Knowledge and understanding of relevant industry standards and best practices. Extensive experience with and strong working knowledge of development platforms and technologies, including Java, LAMP, Ruby on Rails, PHP, Python. Knowledge and understanding of software development lifecycle models (including Agile, Scrum, waterfall, TDD) and where software test fits within them. Ability to communicate technical info and ideas so others will understand. Ability to make appropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions. Ability to apply varying leadership skills and traits that create solutions and results to unexpected situations. Ability to coach and motivate less experienced team members to achieve their goals. Ability to establish a long term vision and execute it. A demonstrated ability to think globally and address issues locally while motivating a team to act with speed, commitment, and consistency. Ability to successfully work and promote inclusiveness in small groups. Ability to provide high level support.
- JOB COMPLEXITY: Define and execute a vision and strategy for high-quality software and service development across the environment. Convert vision and strategy into an executable plan and roadmap. Work with peers across the firm to ensure that development processes are aligned with quality and testing goals and to establish end-to-end lifecycle processes that result in high quality for deployed software and systems. Work with Operational Excellence team and the PMO to ensure alignment and use of best practices and to ensure that project lifecycle properly considers services quality during all phases. Ensure scalability, robustness and reliability of our services and systems. Establish and track KPI’s and metrics for the Services QA team. Maximize automation and minimize manual test work. Work with supplier partners to find the right mix of internal and outsourced/offshore testing. Build and lead a team of skilled professionals with appropriate skills to accomplish the activities listed above.
- SUPERVISION: Manages supervisors and individual contributors. Overall review based on the efficient and effective attainment of goals and objectives.
- EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in business, software engineering or computer science; advanced degree desirable. Nine years of technical experience in software development and QA including a minimum of three years of project leadership experience. Experience in implementing end-to-end software test processes in a complex, services-oriented IT environment. Experience in working with development teams to establish TDD and unit test processes that integrate with software test. Experience in developing efficient test processes for services platforms involving a mix of internally developed and third-party systems. Experience with testing of webscale applications. Experience with test automation and a strong track record of measurable improvements in testing speed and efficiency. Experience in use of software test outsourcing and offshoring. Experience with resource tracking and management. Experience with software release management in a complex IT environment. Experience with process improvement in the software development environment. Experience in working with enterprise IT software systems. Demonstrated ability to consistently provide high level support.
