Senior Engineer - Mining, MTS - Vale Inco - Sudbury

- To provide guidance on the mining designs, plans, and layouts for the MTS mining engineers and/or mine technologists.
- To participate in collateral working relationships with Senior Engineers, Senior Specialists, Metrics Engineers, Chief Mine Engineers, and others as required.
- To provide on-call duties if required for technical assistance with mining and execution issues.
Education:
The ideal candidate will possess:
-The ideal candidate will possess a degree in a related field.
Experience:
-A minimum of 4 years underground mining experience required.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Underground mine design, mining engineering, drilling/blasting, backfilling, scheduling, surveying, incentives, mine's metrics/Prodstats tracking required.
- Knowledge of Vale's mine design, scheduling, grade tracking and engineering software (Mine2-4D, MineCAD and EPS)
- Some knowledge of rock mechanics modelling, micro-seismics, ground support and instrumentation AND some knowledge of ventilation modelling, air flow systems, instrumentation would be an asset.
